Yates Body Shop strives to be a leader within the auto body industry by having an innovative spirit in all areas of our operation. We not only “talk” quality, we “deliver” quality! Our body shop is staffed with only the best technicians and office personnel. We aim to not only keep up with the industry’s trends, but to be one step ahead in technical training, advanced equipment, and professional development.
Along with I-CAR Gold Class, we have also pursued and acquired specialized training and equipment to become certified by GM, Ford, and Honda. We are actively involved with our state associations MCRA (Montana Collision Repair Association) and membership of the SCRS (Society of Collision Repair Specialists). Max Yates is a past president of MCRA and Zac Yates serves currently as an active board member of the MCRA. Max remains actively involved in the association as he offers his time, knowledge, and years of experience through continued member consultation and his passionate participation in the legislative process pertinent to our industry. Max understands the great importance of laws in Montana that are equally fair for both the collision repairers and the insurers so we can be jointly successful in providing our mutual customers the quality, safe repairs they rightfully deserve. He feels strongly that our customers and the consumers residing in our great state should also be completely informed about their rights to a complete, safe and proper repair. Max is committed to striving for labor rates in our market area that are conducive to the provision of decent living wages for our dedicated technicians. All of these worthy endeavors will remain at the forefront of Max’s thoughts, time and efforts.
Since we believe in the quality of work that our employees provide, our shop guarantees the repairs to your vehicle for as long as you own it. We offer a Lifetime Warranty on our metalwork, painting, stripes, decals, mechanical repairs and parts. We continue to meet or exceed the Collision Industry Conference criteria for class “A” shops and are proud of meeting these C.I.C. standards. We utilize only the best products and materials available to complete our collision repair and refinish work.
How It All Began…
It all started when I was a child working with my father and older brother on vehicles at our home. I learned that taking pride in the auto body repair process would deliver very satisfying results.
It was 1975 at the age of 12, when I painted my first car for money. This was when the dream came alive. I continued to repair and refinish vehicles throughout my high school years. I had two employees working with me after school every day. We would try to paint two cars a night; one at my father’s garage and one at my after school job at Williams Exxon.
In 1982, we built our facility which has grown from 3000 square feet to over 14,000 square feet. Growth takes dedication and I have been very fortunate to have the support of my wife, Lisa at my side since the beginning and now our son Zac who has continued our legacy. Last but not least, we recognize the need for great employees. We have always staffed our body shop facility with people who take pride and ownership in what they do.
